MUSIC UNLIMITED c.1999

Would you like to be able to play any song on the piano or keyboard?

It's possible! In fact, YOU can do it today!

The secret is learning to play using "PATTERNS"...

It really is no secret... guitar players have been doing it for years. They learn a few simple strumming PATTERNS plus a few chords and they're enjoying themselves right away.

Somehow, piano & keyboard players have missed out. Traditional piano lessons have focused on reading music. While reading is important, it's not the whole musical picture. By the time lessons are done, most pianists can read, but if the notes aren't written down, they can't play their way out of a paper bag. Sound familiar?

Using patterns, YOU can easily play any song on the piano or keyboard or organ!

     Here's the technique:

First, I'll teach you one simple technique that will enable you to find any chord on the piano.

From there, I'll teach you to play using "PATTERNS":

Press this button to hear one simple PATTERN on the piano.
Can't hear anything?  If you don't get sound within 30 seconds, click
HERE.

Now press this button to hear the same PATTERN played higher on the piano.
(Notice how the pattern sounds the same? It's also very easy to play because your hands make the same motion.)

Press and listen to the same PATTERN again played lower on the piano.
(Again, the pattern is very easy to play because your hands make the same motion, only lower on the piano.)

Press to hear this ONE SIMPLE PATTERN used in the song "Poor Wayfaring Stranger".

"Why is there a flute playing the melody?

The flute is playing the melody so that the hands can concentrate on playing "PATTERNS". This is one of the secrets to this course - read on...

Traditional
old-style piano lessons require you to play the melody in the right hand and chords in the left. As a result, the right hand is forever obligated to "plunk out" the melody while the left hand must carry the bulk of the chords.

With these old techniques, there is a limit to how full your arrangements will sound, because your primary hand is taken up with the duty of always playing the melody.

                        There's a better way!

Professionals learn to play complimentary PATTERNS "around" the melody and let a 2nd instrument (or voice) take the melody, staying out of it's way. This is where creative, full arrangements come from. This is what I will teach you.

So for the beginning of the course, I'll teach you to simply SING the melody  (the part played by the flute in this example) while your hands play full, rich patterns!

A whole lot of fun and you can do it right away!

When you become an accomplished "pattern" player and you would like to play solo piano, (no singing or other instruments), you will be able to insert the melody back into your patterns and maintain full, rich arrangements.

Now comes the really great stuff...

From there I'll teach you one more simple pattern.

Then, we'll play the same song again. However, this time we'll alternate the first pattern that you learned with the new pattern. Suddenly, you have a completely different effect that is very simple to do!

Then we'll learn a third pattern, followed by a fourth, etc., etc...

Finally, press this button to hear MANY DIFFERENT PATTERNS used
together to form a rich arrangement of "Poor Wayfaring Stranger".

The possibilities are endless! Once you have learned a few patterns, you can alternate them any way you'd like to make up your own unique sound! It's true...  YOU can do it!

Patterns start out simple, but they don't have to stay that way! In fact, professional players have a whole arsenal of patterns that they use to create lush, fantastic arrangements!

Testimonials from some of our customers:

Hi David,

I just wanted to give you some feedback on your course. Short and sweet: I love it! It has just the right amount of repetition for someone like me.

The pace is perfect since it is easy to skip or simply scan the familiar until the unfamiliar appears.I've played by ear since I was a little boy (about two thousand years) and have always been intimidated by the teaching style so often experienced with more traditional teachers.

I play because I love music, not because I expect to play in Carnegie Hall. The encouragement you sprinkle throughout your tapes is warmly received, and makes my many mistakes more tolerable to me.

Your course only heightens my love of music (well, in all honesty, it also makes me wish that I had a better singing voice - if your voice is like a French horn, mine is more like an accordion!)

I have already recommended your course to a couple of friends. Thank you for enriching my musical life!

Mr. Sprunger -

I've spent some time today reading and listening to the audio on your site ... I think that this is just what I need. I love your style of teaching and approach.

...your site is great -- very easy to use and extremely well done, being precise but not overwhelming a reader by too much information on each page. The audio, as well, works nicely, the options and explanation being particularly helpful.

Once again, thank you. I think you've got a very good idea here, and I'm very excited about learning.

Hi!

I have already started enjoying the course and I am very much pleased to find a course like this.

...I am composing my songs with a Korg X3 workstation. Thanks a lot.

regards,

K.
